One Internet Browser Screen with a Unique Mix

e-Lectern, in one simple internet browse screen simultaneously gives - a live video screen, a PowerPoint presentation screen, a list of current attendees to the meeting or presentation, a section where the presenter can ask muliple choice questions of the audience and a section where any attendee can ask questions or give feedback to the presenter. In addition the screen showing live video can be instantly switched with the one showing the PowerPoint presentation, simply leave the one deemed to be more important as the larger display.

Questions from the Presenter

Not only does every member of the audience simultaneously receive live video, audio and PowerPoint presentation but they also receive questions from the presenter in the form of questions with multiple choice answers. When the questions are asked, the audience is asked to submit their response immediately and the presenter will then be able to see the results of this instantly. These answers to questions could be used as a form of voting or a way to get some kind of feedback to the presenter from the audience. In distance learning applications these could even be test questions.

Questions or Comments from the Audience

Unlike large group meetings, within e-Lectern, it is very easy for any member of the audience to ask questions of the presenter - they neither have to shout to be heard nor suffer any embarassment. Instead, all that they need to do is to type their question in the appropriate part of the screen, once done, that question will be visible to the presenter and can also be set to be visible by the entire audience. As the whole presentation is being carried out live, the presenter can then choose to respond to the question there and then or wait until a more suitable time later on.

Archived Copy of the Presentation for Those Who Could Not Attend the Live Presentation

When organising a large live presentation, it is often the case that one of more of the participants could not attend due to other commitments or perhaps it is occurring at an inconvenient time of day in their part of the world. To address this e-Lectern conveniently archives the entire presentation that was carried out so that anyone wishing to do so, can watch an already finished presentation. When doing so, e-Lectern will continue to present the questions and results that arose and even more usefully, will also allow the later particpants to answer questions and even ask some of their own. These items will be saved and will be available to the presenter at a time convenient to them.

Set up for the Presenter

Set up for the Presenter is no more than one would expect. Simply bring along the PowerPoint presentation, any questions that they might want to ask along with their multiple choice answers to these questions. These are loaded into e-Lectern along with the list of required attendees for the presentation.

Set up for Audience Members

Audience members will, ahead of the time of the presentation, receive an email with a link to the correct internet connection to participate in the presentation. In addition, this email will also contain a password allowing them access to join the appropriate presentation.

Using e-Lectern

e-Lectern is offered on a number of different ways. First of all it is possible to make an outright purchase of the enterprise version of e-Lectern. This is the full system, including all required hardware and software. In addition e-Lectern is available to regular users for a modest set-up fee for required hardware plus an ongoing monthly charge based on the number of users required. Finally e-Lectern is available as a service with a one-off charge based on the time requirements and the number of simultaneous users.
